"The need for the beginning! part 1

In the series of talk, we will usually discuss upon matters upon different aspects of Cosmology in detail as well as in considerable short article! It'd be better for you to recapitulate some really intriguing aspects of Cosmology. Better for you, if you couldn't read a long article.
A question arises, what is true significance to have or believe in a universe of finite age (even it still seems to be elusive to think of 14 billion years old universe)? What is actually the need to have a beginning as we fancifully quote many things, in the literary fields, as of infinite age? What's the true reasoning behind it?

Yeah, it’d been a controversial and a hot topic for debate in the early of the 20th century and even we are still perplexed by the thought of Big Bang. The most common insight people do have in their mind regarding big bang is:
The whole universe and its content were once at a very, very tiny stage when the temperature would have been unimaginable up to infinity than any of the stars’ core. At the time zero, the universe would have a zero size singularity but after a burst or bang, things have gone so much crazy that we have this creation that we see.
Now, what do you think? Was all this right? Even you will wonder that a well-reputed book of biology has defined the big bang as a thermonuclear explosion! Some orthodoxies are still there between us poking their noses with their eternal universe hypothesis. They sometimes ask us so indifferently that, What is the need for any kind of the beginning of this universe? Our religion has not mentioned this or this is not mentioned in our holy books.
Well, to them I would like you to think of an eternal universe with no end, with no birth! The truth is, It’s just ageless! Many of us would become peaceful for that moment of thought but think of this perspective……!

The compact universe at the early times suggests us about its backstory!
If you really think of the universe as eternal then you must agree upon the homogeneity of the universe, regarding its energy density. Let’s zoom in this matter. If you will look out in your vicinity, you will see different kinds of stuff happening like ants marching on the ground, raindrops falling, balloon bursts, eggs fall down, we die and so the stars too. What can you reason for these stuffs happening? A simple answer would arise in your mind is due to ‘time’ passing away. Well, for this moment, let’s say we agreed to your reasoning. Then, here the problem comes! If you agree on both these statements:
  1. Our universe is eternally old and it has no end nor any beginning!
  2. You agree upon the possibility for the complexity (of such levels) could be possible in this eternal universe.
So simply asserting it, your dream would never come to be true! Let’s see how! If we agreed upon the eternal universe then it is for sure that before our inception and origin, infinite ages have already been passed. And the very complex situation that given an infinite amount of time also, a closed system would tend towards the higher and higher disorder with less and less complexity in structures and more and more homogeneity of the universe in matter distribution.

The kind of universe, we live in, is simply of finite age and without much hesitation, you can turn your side stronger by telling this reasoning! Let’s go through the foundation of this reasoning.
Ludwig Boltzmann

The time is set upon the very early of the 20th century, an Austrian physicist named Ludwig Boltzmann who had defended his largely criticized and controversial concept upon Entropy. The simple reasoning, I’d like to give you, is by visiting a lottery shop (in your imaginations). Buy any of the lottery tickets randomly and now suppose if there were 100s of cards in which you chose 1 of the tickets. On an auspicious day, the results would be announced. Going through statistics, the chance of winning a lottery is 1/100. So, it is much unlikely to win a lottery. So, losing a lottery is likely to happen. So, I really don’t want you to take this analogy so seriously but the kind of the essence of Boltzmann’s statistical derivation of Entropy is hidden in it.

So, what is entropy?
Entropy is something related to the second law of thermodynamics, sounds freaky, but it’s easy! The term is related to the number of possible arrangements in a system, closed system, precisely. It is termed as ‘low’ when many of the arrangements in the system would go noticed. It is termed as ‘high’ when many of the arrangements in the system would go unnoticed. What Boltzmann contributed to this idea that when a system would be in order and gradually with time, it is more likely to get in disorder. The one thing you should fit in your mind is that even you are that much lucky to win a lottery that’s not mean entropy hasn’t extended. Entropy is simply, the measure of disorder in the energy. The sweat you produced while buying tickets, the net work done by your neuron is just releasing out high entropic energy.
Conclusion
The serious conclusion we can draw about our today’s discussion is that the universe must have a beginning! The type of impossibility and discrepancy showed by me at the middle of the discussion about eternal inflation and our presence in the universe. Now let’s clear that discrepancy.

Having a universe with no timeline could be horrible because the time we know of is usually derived out of thermodynamical arrow of time aka, the Entropic arrow of time. If the time has passed infinitely then the fate of the universe as heat death would become evident. The energy density would be highly disordered letting the molecules’ formation complexity to be stunned. Life would never be possible to originate until the universe doesn’t have a beginning as Big Bang.
So, here’s the end of part one! Hope you are enthusiastic for the further parts to be released. We will surely discuss even why and how the universe got its existence. This is just a beginning. Let’s have a wonderful series! Mett you in the next shorties!
